Professional Resume
Ronald M. Gold, who opened his own real estate appraisal practice in 1983, has been actively involved in the appraisal of New York City (NYC) commercial and residential real estate since 1978. An author, teacher, and expert witness, Mr. Gold is court appointed and tested.
Specialties
Although Mr. Gold's assignments have ranged from high-rise apartment buildings to vacant land, he currently specializes in the appraisal of foreign missions and consulates, loft and garage buildings, small office buildings, single family town houses, cooperative and condominium units, and apartment buildings within NYC.
Clients
Ronald Gold has prepared reports for a variety of clients including such corporate giants as General Motors, Time-Warner, and CitiCorp, to name just a few, and for third party relocation companies such as Prudential, Coldwell Banker and Worldwide Relocation. Mr. Gold has also prepared reports for matrimonial disputes, estate tax purposes, and business dissolutions for law firms, accounting firms, private investors, municipal and state courts and as well as for other governmental agencies.
Qualifications
In 1986, Mr. Gold qualified as an expert witness for the New York State (NYS) Attorney General's Office. He is seen at right in a recent photo made while he was waiting to be called as an expert witness in a bankruptcy case in Manhattan. In 1991, Mr. Gold was one of the first 300 appraisers to become Certified as a General -- Commercial and Residential -- NYS Real Estate Appraiser. He holds License No. 460000000713. Mr. Gold, who is a recent past (1999-2000) President of the NYC chapter of the American Society of Appraisers, is also a Licensed NYS Real Estate Broker.

Teacher and Author A popular lecturer at the New York campus of The Learning Annex, Ronald M. Gold talks on such topics as How to Be a Real Estate Appraiser, and How to Find Great Real Estate Deals. At the Zicklin School of Business and the Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute of Baruch College (CUNY), he teaches classes in the Real Estate Capital Markets course. Mr. Gold is also a Certified instructor for the NYS Real Estate Salespersons and Brokers courses. Mr. Gold also teaches and develops courses for the Real Estate Board of New York, and for the Greater Harlem Real Estate Board, where he conducts the Harlem Home-Buying Seminars. When he's not busy appraising or teaching, Mr. Gold prepares articles on real estate appraisal for various trade publications.
